Exploring the Feasibility of the Verdugo Wash Master Plan
x The City is moving forward with the construction of the Verdugo Wash Project.
✔ The Verdugo Wash Master Plan represents the next step in evaluating the potential transformation of the Verdugo Wash into an active transportation corridor and linear park. This feasibility study will help the City of Glendale and the community better understand the challenges and opportunities associated with enhancing mobility, access to open space, habitat restoration, and stormwater capture along the Wash.

While this study builds on the conceptual groundwork laid by the Verdugo Wash Visioning Study, completed in 2022, it does not signal a commitment to move forward with the project. Instead, it provides a comprehensive framework to assess the technical, environmental, and community considerations involved. Ensuring public safety and preserving the primary flood control functions of the Wash remain paramount.

This feasibility study is supported by $6 million in State grant funds, allowing for an in-depth analysis of potential design options across the Wash’s 9.4-mile length. With significant coordination required among various governmental agencies, this feasibility study will explore solutions that align with the needs of the community while addressing physical constraints and environmental impacts. The results of this study will guide the City and its residents in determining the future of the Verdugo Wash project.
